Bushwalking

The perfect launching pad for spectacular High Country hiking: scale Mt Feathertop via Bungalow Spur Track or the Bon Accord Track, or walk the ridge line on the Razorback trail.

Need somewhere quiet, peaceful, and pretty for a group retreat? Our facility is great for large groups needing space and serenity.

Music

We’ve hosted various ensembles and music retreats over the years. This is a great facility for focused, distraction-free rehearsals.

The Township of Bright & the villages of Harrietville, Porepunkah, & Wandiligong are ready for you. Relax … explore the shops, dine at the many restaurants, chat over a coffee in a streetside cafe, enjoy the mild days, crisp nights and spectacular mountain tops.

Wineries, antique bazaar, brewery, lavender farm, deer & emu farms, day tours and countryside cafes.

There’s loads of activities… river & lookout walks, rail trail cycling, microlight flights, paragliding, road & mountain biking, tennis, golf, bowls and photography.

Looking for an adventure?

Take a picnic lunch and checkout:

  • Mt Buffalo National Park – lots to do and see. Have afternoon tea “in style” at the Mt Buffalo Chalet!
  • Dinner Plain via Mt Hotham or do the loop on to Omeo and around the Mitta Mitta road, back via the dirt road across the Bogong High Plans to Falls Creek, and down to the Kiewa Valley before returning to Harrietville over Tawonga Gap.
  • Kiewa Valley and Mt Beauty (or on to Bogong Village and Falls Creek (visit heritage cattleman’s hut – Wallaces Hut)
  • Lots of 4WD tracks
  • Enjoy a round of golf at the Bright or Myrtleford Golf Clubs
  • Winter skiing or snow play days at Mt Hotham

Accommodation options

People staying at Mountain View Retreat in Harrietville have a range of accommodation options and facilities to choose from. Prices start at $150 per night per room for motel accommodation, and $110 per person per night for fully-catered group accommodation. Self-catering rates for groups are available upon request.
